Aqua & Shelter Foundation to Commission First Community Borehole in Kpere, Abuja
The Aqua & Shelter Help Foundation has announced the commissioning of its first community borehole project, a milestone aimed at expanding access to clean, safe, and sustainable water for residents of Kpere Community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The commissioning ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Kpere Community, off the Abuja–Lokoja Expressway, Kwali, Abuja FCT.
The project marks a significant step in the foundation’s mission to address water scarcity and improve living conditions in underserved communities. For many rural settlements across Nigeria, access to potable water remains a daily challenge, often forcing residents—particularly women and children—to travel long distances in search of safe drinking water.
By providing a reliable source of clean water, the foundation hopes to contribute to better public health outcomes, reduce the burden of water collection, and support community development.
Transportation Arrangements for Guests
To ensure smooth transportation for invited guests, Aqua & Shelter Foundation has arranged a shuttle bus service from Abuja to the project site.
The bus will depart from:
Blue Nest Ltd
Suite 2, DBM Plaza, Opposite 1st 40 Hotel,
Aminu Kano Crescent, Bannex Junction, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Departure Time: 9:00 a.m. sharp
Guests who wish to use the transport service are advised to arrive before the scheduled departure time.
A Milestone for Community Development
The commissioning represents more than the opening of a borehole. It reflects the growing role of private foundations and community-driven initiatives in addressing critical infrastructure gaps across Nigeria.
Access to clean water remains one of the most effective interventions for improving health, education, and economic productivity. Projects such as the Kpere borehole demonstrate how targeted grassroots investments can create lasting impact in communities where basic services are often limited.
Residents, development partners, community leaders, and well-wishers are expected to attend the event and celebrate what organizers describe as the beginning of a broader commitment to improving access to water and shelter for vulnerable communities.
